Dry Needling

Dry needling uses strong stimulation of the muscles to get them to release. Our certified physical therapist inserts a "dry" needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into muscle to reduce muscle tension and pain in specific areas. Ask our team if this technique could work for you.

Dry needling has proven to be effective for improving muscle function and range of motion, as well as for reducing pain. The procedure involves puncturing the skin with a thin needle in order to target and treat specific trigger points in the underlying muscle. Although the procedure itself may sometimes cause minimal discomfort, it is an effective way to treat an injured muscle by decreasing banding or tightness, increasing blood flow, and reducing pain at the insertion site. Point North therapists are trained and certified in dry needling therapy in order to provide you with the highest quality of care and outcomes.
