Dr. David Huie PT, DPT

Dr. Huie earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2014. Immediately after graduation, he was fortunate enough to gain an additional year of experience in manual therapy training at Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. Dr. Huie and his wife then spent three years working in a variety of settings across the United States, including acute care, inpatient rehab, home health, and outpatient therapy.

Their final contract led them to Anchorage, where they fell in love with the lifestyle, the people, and with their rescue dog, Holly. Alaska inspired Dr. Huie to open a practice that provides the highest level possible of physical therapy. He feels fortunate to have a career that gives people a healthier, happier, and more active way of living.

Dr. Laura Huie PT, DPT

Dr. Laura Huie earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2014. She began her PT career working at a large hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, for four years where she saw a wide variety of patient populations and specialties from trauma, to neurology, pediatrics, spine, transplants, orthopedic, and medical/surgical patients.

Drs David and Laura share a love for travel and adventure, which brought them up to Alaska. After they decided to make Alaska their home, Dr Laura received advanced training in pelvic floor therapy for women and children. Laura is passionate about pediatrics, helping children since birth reach their full potential, as well as women’s health issues, including pregnancy, post partum, and pelvic floor dysfunction.

When David, Laura, and Holly (see office administrator) aren’t at Point North, they love hiking, skiing, camping, and exploring Alaska with their daughter Ava.

Normajean_Farr Point North PT DPT

Dr. Normajean Farr DPT

Dr. Normajean Farr earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After graduation, she began working to help those living in an underserved community in rural Wyoming. During the pandemic, Normajean moved to Alaska and immediately fell in love and decided to make this her new home.

As a competitive powerlifter, Normajean strives to provide a comprehensive approach to fitness, rehabilitation, and wellness at all levels and across the lifespan. She has a passion for what she does and brings enthusiasm to each visit to get each patient back to enjoying the activities that make life worth living. She believes in treating the person as a whole, not their “part” or the image on the screen. She has found a passion in helping those living with chronic pain through her skill of dry needling and has found great success in implementing it into her practice.

When Normajean isn’t busy treating patients, you can find her up in the clouds flying with her fiance’ Alex, throwing a ball for her Golden Retriever, Finley, or hiking in the beautiful Alaskan landscape.

Kristi Lauwers, Physical Therapy Assistant

Kristi Lauwers-Wilson, Physical Therapy Assistant

After earning a degree in Relational Communications and Business in St. Paul, Minnesota, Kristi found herself drawn back to the positive impact physical therapy had on her own life while recovering from injuries sustained during high school and collegiate volleyball.

In 2022, she, her husband, and their dog Appa made the drive down the Alcan, eventually leading her to earn her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from PIMA Medical Institute in Seattle, WA.

Kristi is passionate about working with athletes, teens, individuals with balance deficits, and those experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction. Upon graduation, she completed her Level 1 Pelvic Floor certification. She thrives on building strong relationships with her patients and helping them reach meaningful, real-life goals — whether that’s lifting their grandkids, reaching a bucket-list summit, walking their dog pain-free, or dancing at their daughter’s wedding.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Kristi pulling weeds at home in Girdwood or chasing the sun to Argentina during the winter to spend time with family.

Emily – Licensed Massage Therapist

Emily, Licensed Massage Therapist

Emily has been practicing massage therapy since 2015 after graduating from Hawaii Healing Arts College. Her approach is intuitive, adaptive, and highly collaborative. She believes in providing patients not only relief, but also insight into their bodies and practical tools to support long-term wellness.

Though she has lived all over the world, Emily has called Alaska home since 2005. Her diverse background informs her integrative style, blending both Eastern and Western healing modalities to create individualized treatment experiences.

Emily is passionate about her work and loves being part of the team at Point North. Outside the clinic, she can usually be found working on her next novel, hiking Flattop, or engaging in spirited (and occasionally absurdist) intellectual debates with friends.

When asked who she would most like to share a coffee with, she mentioned Gichin Funakoshi, Mary Shelley, or Wanda Rutkiewicz — a reflection of her appreciation for discipline, creativity, and bold exploration.

Rebecca Blankenship, Licensed Massage Therapist

Licensed since 2019, Rebecca specializes in helping people find relief from migraines, chronic neck pain, and stress. Her favorite areas to work on are the neck, shoulders, and head, using a soothing blend of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Swedish, and trigger point techniques. Rebecca believes effective massage doesn’t have to hurt and emphasizes calming the nervous system as part of the healing process. She enjoys empowering her clients to understand their bodies and find ways to care for themselves between sessions. Passionate about history, Rebecca is especially interested in World War I and II. She finds joy in the variety of people she works with, particularly women dealing with migraines and chronic stress.

Holly is an Alaska local from Togiak. Her hobbies include chasing squirrels, tummy scratches, and stealing food when no one is watching. She specializes in the security of the clinic and insurance verifications. Holly is paid under the table with treats (don't tell the IRS), with work performance based on whether or not she is a good girl. She has also adopted the role of office morale officer, frequently supervising the clinic for cranky workers. If you see Holly, don't hesitate to pet and give her love as she is very needy.
